Tiger Woods and Floyd Landis can end tomorrow with two of Europe's top world championship titles.
Woods leads the British Open by just a stroke, but it is still a lead. If not for three 3-putts on the back nine, Woods would have a semi-comanding lead heading into Sunday's final round. Instead, Sergio Garcia, Ernie Els and Chris DiMarco are just a stroke back and 14 golfers are within 5 strokes of Tiger.
Still, Tiger with the lead heading into Sunday is nearly automatic. Tiger has won all 6 majors in which he led after 36 holes....and all 10 majors which he's led after 54 holes. This would be Woods' 2nd straight British Open title....the first person to do that since Tom Watson in 1982-83.
Across the channel, Floyd Landis is just starting to make his name.
Currently, Landis leads the Tour de France. He was all but dead after a bad mountain stage a few days ago....but has surged to take back the yellow jersey [the Tour's lead, to you and me] heading into the Tour's final stage.
This is the first post-Lance Armstrong Tour de France...and it still makes waves over here as an American is primed to win again. He'd be the third American to win the Tour [Armstrong and Greg LaMond are the others].....the 8th American winner in a row....and the 11th Tour won by the United States in the last 21 years.

I am glad to see Floyd get his glory after years of support Lance as a team mate. Unfortunately, his osteonecrosis and required hip replacement surgery are going to end his career.
Why is it I can already hear the buttwipes on the Jim Rome show making references to Barbaro?
