10 Games To Watch This College Football Season

The college football is about two months away...but my chops are already watering [I can hear my wife laughing that I just said that].  While my NCAA preview is about a month away....here is a taste of the 10 GAMES TO WATCH in college pigskin this season:

BOISE STATE at GEORGIA [Sept 3]. Maybe not a glitzy match up...but it is nice [and rare] to see an SEC school give a team like BSU a game like this. To Boise, this is a great forum to vault their program to a possible BCS berth if they run the table. Winning a game between the hedges will show voters that they belong. Oh, and BSU is quite a fascinating team to watch anyways.

MIAMI at FLORIDA STATE [Sept 5]. Being an ACC guy, this has become the premiere game in our new league. These two teams could end the season playing each other in the ACC title game. However, both schools are breaking in new quarterbacks and both have major questions surrounding their young teams. Either one could be a title contender...and either one could flop. Doesn’t matter. They both enter this game undefeated with bragging rights on the line.

TEXAS at OHIO STATE [Sept 10]. Give Mack Brown credit. He’s trying to get his program into elite status. Last year, the Horns ended their season in the Rose Bowl beating Michigan. Now, they take on The Ohio State University in Columbus. This game could deal a serious blow to either team’s national title hopes....AND help them as well. A non conference game like this rarely comes along.

TENNESSEE at LSU [Sept 24]. Both teams are legit title contenders who really need this game. Both teams have nightmare schedules and could ill afford to lose this one.

OKLAHOMA vs TEXAS [Oct 8]. This could be Texas’ best shot at upending the Sooners. The Horns haven’t won in the rivalry since 1998.

PITTSBURGH at LOUISVILLE [Nov 3]. This game could decide the Big East title and their *gulp* BCS berth. The game will be on primetime on national TV...so this could be a shining moment for the future of Big East football.

MIAMI at VIRGINIA TECH [Nov 5]. Most people forget that V Tech are the defending ACC champions. Mainly because the handled Miami in the Orange Bowl. This year, the game is in Blacksburg with a possible spot in the ACC title game on the line.

FLORIDA at SOUTH CAROLINA [Nov 12]. Steve Spurrier plays host to the Gators. Ooooooh! Intrigue!

USC at CALIFORNIA [Nov 12]. The last time the Trojans lost a game...it was in Berkeley two seasons ago. Cal also came oh so close to winning this game last year as well.

OHIO STATE at MICHIGAN [Nov 19]. Do I even have to explain why?
