Redskins Will Beat The Eagles

EAGLES AT REDSKINS.  Both teams were humiliated last week in "marquee" games.  So both enter this Sunday night matchup with their tails between their legs....and one of them will lose again on the national stage.  A stage even bigger with the recent T.O. interview in which he calls out everyone but himself [who is questionable to play] for Philly's poor start.  I think Washington wins this game.  Why?  Well, the Skins have been plagued by big plays.  Big running plays.  Whether it is Tatum Bell, Shaun Alexander or Tiki Barber [and remember that Priest Holmes big TD catch was a screen play that Holmes ran], the Skins have been poor in that area.  Well, Philly doesn't believe in running the football.  So maybe that will help stop those big plays from happening.  The fact that Owens and McNabb are quite banged up will also help stop those big plays.  Washington must establish the run, and can do so with Philly's on/off run defense.  The same defense that held LaDanlian Tomlinson to 7 yards on 17 carries allowed TWO 100-yard rushers last week in Denver.  Redskins 24-17

PICKEM STANDINGS
Sportz   (77-39)
Lew   (76-40)
Monponsett   (74-42)
Pre-Jock (73-43)
Treesoup   (71-45)
Jamie   (69-47)
Kiser Blade   (68-48)
George Coztanza (66-50)
Raisin   (64-52)
Angel (57-45)
Yannis   (63-53)
NYGFAN (30-30)

FALCONS AT DOLPHINS.  This will be a low scoring game...as both teams will want to establish a run game.  Atlanta will feed Dunn and use Vick's rollouts to keep the ball moving down the field.  Miami will use Ronnie Brown and The Hippie to keep the Phins offense moving.  Not to mention that both teams have solid defenses.  Falcons 16-9

LIONS AT VIKINGS.  A few days ago...I predicted the Vikings would win the NFC North division despite starting 2-5.  They must start now.  Many people feel that the Vikes offense will be smoother with Brad Johnson at the helm...and that may be true.  The issue will be Detroit, which brings back Joey Harrington to the starting role.  Does anyone think a rusty Harrington will be improved??  Not me.  Vikings 21-10

CHARGERS AT JETS.  The Jets run defense has been horrible this year...andTomlinson is licking his chops.  However, I don't think he'll get his 4th TD pass this week.  Chargers 24-13

TEXANS AT JAGUARS.  The Jags run defense has suffered lately...as Steven Jackson's 179 yards last week will attest.  But Houston really doesn't have a passing threat like the Rams do to keep those lanes open.  Jaguars 23-21

BENGALS AT RAVENS.  I cannot figure out the Ravens to save my life.  They've underacheived so greatly.  This is a trap game for Cincy.  So far, the Bengals have been pushed around by Jacksonville and Pittsburgh....two teams that feature physical defenses and a smacking run game.  The Ravens are capable of those things....they just don't always do it.  Bengals 20-16

TITANS AT BROWNS.  Is Don Criqui doing this game??  Browns 10-7

PANTHERS AT BUCCANEERS.  This should be quite a nice game.  The Panthers run defense is excellent...which is good against a Tampa team that really wants to pound the ball.  Carolina can be had passing...but the Buccs just don't seem to do that too well right now.  Panthers 26-17

RAIDERS AT CHIEFS.  Oakland seems to be the surging team here....but KC is so tough to win at.  Chiefs 34-28

BEARS AT SAINTS.  The entire Saints franchise is struggling.  And there may be several Bears converts at Tiger Stadium rooting against Saints owner Tom Benson.   Bears 23-20

SEAHAWKS AT CARDINALS.  The more things change...the more they stay the same.  Arizona is still not a good team.  Denny Green goes back to hating McCown again.  Seahawks 27-20

GIANTS AT NINERS.  There are people who feel that San Fran will pull the upset.  How?  Giants 30-10

STEELERS AT PACKERS.  Another trap game.  As bad as Green Bay's record looks...they've not really been blown out of a game.  Pittsburgh is dealing with no Big Ben...so they aren't as strong.  They don't need to be.  The Pack defense will make studs out of Willie Parker and Jerome Bettis again.  Steelers 30-20

COLTS AT PATRIOTS.  I have no idea why...but I am taking the Colts.  I know that the game is in Foxboro...and at night.....but Indy is due.  Colts 24-20
