NFL Week 10 Picks.....Plus Some College Nuggets

So...how do you follow up a perfect 14-0 NFL weekend???  Keep the streak alive!!

REDSKINS AT BUCCANEERS.  Trap game.  Sure, it looked like Tampa was blown out last week....and they were...but Sims actually improved a bit.  The key will be their running game, which the Redskins have been bitten on.  If the duo of Pittman and Cadillac can get it going, the Bucs have a great shot to win this game.  And they need it, too, since Atlanta and Carolina have very winnable games.  And then we look at the other side of the ball.  The Redskins offensive surge has slowed down a bit in the past few weeks.  Turnovers have been killers.  I feel that Washington will have a positive enough offensive game...and the defense will win it for them.  Redskins 21-16
RAVENS AT JAGUARS.  Again...the Ravens suck.  Jaguars 20-10
TEXANS AT COLTS.  The best team in the NFL hosts the worst team in the NFL.  Enjoy.  Colts 41-13
VIKINGS AT GIANTS.  The Giants are beasts at home this year...while Minnesota has really struggled outside the Metrodome.  Giants 28-13
NINERS AT BEARS.  Playoff teams win games like this easily.  Let's see where Chicago is at.  Bears 23-10
CARDINALS AT LIONS.  Two of the preseason "surprise teams" have yet to surprise.  They are a combined 5-11.  The difference, however, lies in the fact that Detroit has a pretty good shot at getting into the postseason...while Arizona has quite a big mountain to climb.  Lions 19-10
CHIEFS AT BILLS.  Trap game.  Kansas City can be had on the road...and Buffalo performs pretty well at home.  And with Priest Holmes out...Larry Johnson will get a bulk of the carries in the cold November game.  Bills 14-13
PATRIOTS AT DOLPHINS.  Tough game.  New England is the better team....but Miami is tough at home.  Indy shredded the Pats defense last week...which shows me that Miami can move the ball on them as well.  I just think that Brady balls-up this game.  They are painted in a corner...and he needs to get them out.  Patriots 23-20
BRONCOS AT RAIDERS.  Classic AFC West game.  I think Jake Plummer will have a big game against Oakland.  I just do.  The key for Denver will be holding down LaMont Jordan, who has become the offense's focal point.  Broncos 31-27
JETS AT PANTHERS.  The squad with the most on the line seems to be the TopCats.  They released two this past week and will have to have everyone else step up in their absence.  If not...how can we root for our "deee-fense"???  Delhomme, Smith and Davis keep on having fun out there.  Panthers 27-10
P
ACKERS AT FALCONS.  I think the wheels have fallen off for Green Bay.  And their lone bright spot.....Favre....sucks in domes.  Which is odd...since his lone Super Bowl win was in a dome.  Falcons 24-14
RAMS AT SEAHAWKS.  This NFC rivalry is currently being owned by the Hawks.  Seahawks 31-17
BROWNS AT STEELERS.  It will be a low scoring game...as Pittsburgh will run the ball a ton and eat up clock.  Also, with the Browns on Sunday night football...is there a wonder why the NFL is going to switch games out starting next year??  Steelers 20-6
COWBOYS AT EAGLES.  With the weight of the world watching this game...I think Philly will respond well.  A much needed home game against a hated opponent in front of the football world may get the Eagles back to playoff hunt.  Eagles 27-20

PICKEM STANDINGS
Sportz   (91-39)
Lew   (88-42)
Monponsett   (84-46)
Pre-Jock (83-47)
Treesoup   (81-49)
Jamie   (80-50)
Kiser Blade   (79-51)
Raisin   (75-55)
George Coztanza (74-56)
Angel (57-45)
Yannis   (73-57)
NYGFAN (30-30)

FLORIDA STATE AT CLEMSON.  This should be a pretty good game!  The Noles have already been toppled by Virginia and NC State.....and Clemson, to me, is better than both of them.  The last time Bobby Bowden took his team into Clemson to face his son.....his son won.  I just think that FSU will find a way to pull this one out.  Seminoles 23-21
NORTHWESTERN AT OHIO STATE.  I've been one of those people who have marveled about what N'western has done this year.  I've also been surprised about how Ohio State hasn't performed to the level I think they'd be.  The thing is here that N'western cannot stop anyone...and Ohio State has plenty of defense to hold onto the game.  Buckeyes 27-20
FLORIDA AT SOUTH CAROLINA.  The ol' Ball Coach gets to face his former employer and alma mater.  South Carolina has the ability to pop the Gators.  They won't.  I think that talent will rule this one.
Gators 30-10
NAVY AT NOTRE DAME
.  Make that 43 in a row.  Irish 40-17
USC AT CALIFORNIA.  Despite some hype...this game will be a dog.  The last time USC lost a game was in their last trip to Cal-Berkely.  Then, add in the fact that Cal should've beaten USC last season in LA and there is a certain mystery around this.  Well, prepare to be let down.  USC will be as prepared in this game as they can possibly be......while Cal really isn't as good as their last two teams that faced USC.  Trojans 34-17
LSU AT ALABAMA.  Or, the "SEC West Championship Game".  To me, LSU is the best team in the SEC.  Had it not been for a 2nd half meltdown against Tennessee, LSU would be sitting at #3 and wondering if they would get screwed by the BCS.  They still might end up that way.  That defense is awesome...and Alabama, despite their undefeated season at lofty ranking....isn't really tearing up the offensive charts.  Tigers 17-7
AUBURN AT GEORGIA.  Important game for Georgia...as a win  [plus a Florida loss] would give them the division title.  Auburn won't be a pushover, but DJ Shockley's return to the UGA offense will get them stirring again.  Dawgs 20-10
