FLORIDA GATORS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!

FLORIDA WINS TITLE:  Congrats to the Gator Nation.  At this time last year, I was on top of the world with my Heels winning the title....so I know very well the feeling that Florida fans are having right now.  They were the best team in the tournament.....every round.  And, remember, this team went the longest without losing their first game.....so they had a legit regular season.  Congrats, again, to all you Florida fans out there!

NORTH CAROLINA WILL BE BACK:  Florida should be a team to reckon with next year...but UNC will be as well.  Just a year after winning the title, the Heels will be on the road to try to get back their lost trophy.  In ESPN's postgame chat, two of the three analysts [avid Dookies Dick Vitale and Jay Bilas] placed North Carolina as their top team for 2006-2007 with Florida in 2nd.  Digger Phelps has UNC behind Florida in the top spot.  I think the Heels will have their 3rd straight Freshman Of The Year winner [after Marvin Williams and Tyler Hansbrough] with Tywon Lawson.  And yeah, that includes Oden!!!!  Okay, it may be a stretch.  It could be a down year in the ACC....with Duke losing Redick, Williams and maybe McRoberts, NC State losing Sendek and Boston College losing Craig Smith.  Either way, UNC will be back.

GEORGE BUSH SHOULDA KEPT PITCHING:  President George Bush threw out the first pitch before the Reds game....and turned out to be the best pitcher Cincinnati had today.  If a capsule of what the season should look like, the Reds pitching blew up, the Reds hitting try to keep them in it but fell short.  Ugh!

BONDS GETS SYRINGE THROWN AT HIM:  Clever...yes.  But throwing crap on the field is horrible.  Don't do it.  Remember that Ron Artest thing??

MCNAIR THROWN OUT OF TENNESSEE:  Well, not the state.  But Steve McNair wanted to work out at the Titans facility when they told him to leave.  Huh?  Well, his contract status is that he's under contract with the Titans.  So, as a contracted member of the team....he should be able to do his job.  But, the team wants him to restructure his deal and fears that him doing the offseason workouts could possibly injure him and the team would be liable.  I totally disagree with the team.  Sure, McNair's contract is horrible for the team....as it counts $24M against the cap.  The reason his cap number is so high is because of the many times he's restructured his deal in the past.  Now he's reaping the benefits and the Titans want to renig.

ROGER CLEMENS NOT PITCHING:  Lost in the opening day bruh-ha is that the Rocket isn't on some team's mound today.  He was in Arlington at the Rangers game...but just as a fan.  Good for you Roger!  If I was Clemens, I'd just chill all year....keep working out...then join some team around the All Star Break.

CHUCK, NIQUE IN HALL OF FAME:  Charles Barkley was a no-brainer....and Dominique Wilkins should have been.  Joining them are Joe Dumars, UConn women's coach Geno Auriemma, Italian coach Sandro Gamba and longtime contributor Dave Gavitt.

Roger Clemons is a business man, His so called "Loyalty" could be bought by anybody if the price was right.
I think he should have been at the Astros for opening day out of respect for his fellow team mates last year, and the city of Houston, but I guess courting big dollars in Dallas was more important, like I said, his loyalty is about as thick as a dollar bill.

Barkley and Nique's (France's greatest player) careers add up to like 34 years of No Championship Status.

Providence is close enough to the Cape that we see Billy Donovan as one of our boys. If you have no cable (and many coastal places don't), PC games from the Rhode Island channel are the only winter sport you can get in on the TV.
