Marv Levy Back in Buffalo

Marv Levy is back in Buffalo.  One of the nicest and smartest guys in football will back in the game he loves...as he takes over the football operations job for the Bills.  Terry Donahoe will be fired any minute now.

No word on if Levy will go "Pat Riley" and hire himself to be the head coach either.

Why not?  Joe Gibbs, who is in the Hall Of Fame, came back after over a decade away from the Washington Redskins and led them to the playoffs in just his second year.

So, if Parcells retired in Dallas....somebody call Tom Landry.  Don Shula's still around....get him in Miami [no, Saban's doing fine].  There's a job opening in Minnesota, though, so what's Bud Grant or Jerry Burns doing?  Isn't it about time for Bill Walsh to coach the Niners again?  Maybe bring Mike Ditka back somewhere.  Jerry Glanville back in Houston.

In all honesty, this is a solid move by owner Ralph Wilson.  Levy represents the Golden Era of Buffalo Bills football.  Sure, they lost four Super Bowls....but no one has been to four consecutive before or since.  Whether or not he's an excellent "football operations guy" remains to be seen....but he can't be much worse than Donahoe.

Well, the difference between Tom Landry and Marv Levy, Joe Gibbs, Don Shula, Bill Walsh is Tom Landry is deceased.

Don't think for a minute I don't wish we pull the "lazrus" move and bring Tom Landry backed from the departed, because he was a much better coach than our current New Jersey Con Man.

Yeah...I had an entire list of dead coaches on a list...but felt it was overkill [no pun intended].  I had Hank Stram in KC, Vince in Green Bay, Geroge Allen in DC if Gibbs stepped awy, etc.

I kept the Landry one only.
