David Beckham Plays For the Galaxy....and Now You Can Too!!!

The LA Galaxy of the MLS [that's Major League Soccer to the layperson] are bringing over David Beckham to play for them this season for what could be a whopping $250M deal.

Not too shabby.

Maybe you can help out on the finances of that.  You see, for $130 out of your own pocket, you can try out to be Beckham's next teammate.

Yeah, the Los Angeles Galaxy and holding open tryouts on February 10th and 11th.   Click on the above link for info about applying for the gig.

The fee is $130.  Type in your preferred position, height, weight, kicking foot, if you are a US Citizen and list your previous soccer experience.  They'll pick a stock of fellas from the pile and give you a call if you made it.  Not too shabby?

I know we all liked that movie INVINCIBLE about Vince Papali and him making the Eagles from an open tryout like that....but c'mon.  Are the Dodgers sending out feelers for pitchers?  Are the Lakers looking to bring in some rec leaguers to fill out their roster?  This is why the MLS is the MLS and no one cares about it.  After Game #1 of the Beckham Era, we will all lose interest just as we always do after soccer does something to "build up the sport in America".
