Report: Navy To Join Big East

Navy, one of the three service academies, is reportedly moving their football program to the Big East conference in 2015. Due to scheduling, bowl and television contracts, the move is delayed for several years.

As it stands right now, the Big East will have 11 football schools and would look like this:

Boise State
Central Florida
Cincinnati
Houston
Louisville
Navy
Rutgers
San Diego State
SMU
South Florida
UConn

Remember that Pittsburgh and Syracuse will leave to join the ACC in 2013 while West Virginia will leave for the Big 12. TCU, who was to join the Big East in 2012, will instead move to the Big 12 as well. The Big East added Boise State and SD State for football only and SMU, Houston and UCF for all sports.

Of course, the Big East isn't done and will be looking to add a 12th football member so they can hold a conference championship game. That is, however, if no other members are poached. UConn and Rutgers have shown interest in the ACC; Louisville could be a target of the Big 12.

If a 12th member comes, the Big East could look like this:
EAST: Central Florida, Navy, Rutgers, South Florida, UConn, 12th team
WEST: Boise State, Cincinnati, Houston, Louisville, San Diego St, SMU
